MeetTeresa

Actress | Director | Producer | Entrepreneur

A 1996 graduate of the first Goodwill of Atlanta Women’s Entrepreneurial program “BusinessNOW”. At that time she was known as the person to go to when you needed creative ideas and ways to market your business and promote you as the owner of that business. She called her business “Diversity Communications” tagline “promoting your business and you”.  Her services targeted micro businesses and provided print-based, computer-based, video-based, and seminar-based marketing and promotional materials.

After a few years of supporting others and receiving a life changing diagnosis, she realized it was time to focus on her childhood dream of becoming an actress. So in 2010, Teresa returned to her passion, used her business savvy, got a talent agent, and became a Film, Television, and Commercial actress.

In 2011, she made her professional acting debut in Kirk Franklin’s “ I Smile music video, and 2015 landed a “guest starring” role as “Gene” (the nosey neighbor) on Tyler Perry’s TV episodic “If Loving You is Wrong”, OWN Network. Those performances lead her to another opportunity to work with Mr. Perry on TLC Network scripted television show “Too Close to Home” as the president’s personal secretary “Judy”. That role gave her the opportunity to play along side actress Heather Locklear. Then, Bounce TV caught a glimpse of Teresa as “Penny” the dress shop owner and friend of “Vanessa Bell Calloway” on “Saints & Sinners”.

Earlier this year, Teresa was featured on the “big screen” as a “Grandmother” in a movie called “Gifted” starring Oscar award winning actress Octavia Spencer and actor Chris Evans. And has a local recurring commercial called “1800NEWDEAL”.

Always giving back, she mentored southwest Atlanta high school students in an afterschool “robotics” program run by “Future Seekers, Inc.” She introduced the students to “Hollywood South” by teaching digital filmmaking and creating a video that documented their experience building their robot.
